Marios Falaris

Dr. Marios Falaris is a socio-cultural anthropologist whose work considers the effects of militarization in everyday life. As a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences Society of Fellows in the Humanities, Dr. Falaris is currently developing an oral history and public humanities initiative at the Winston Tabb Special Collections Research Center, entitled Stories of Displacement. They have a PhD in Anthropology from Johns Hopkins University and have previously worked on the Society for Cultural Anthropology’s podcast AnthroPod. Dr. Falaris is also working on the book, Vulnerable Intimacies: Securing the Everyday in Indian-Occupied Kashmir, which traces the effects of military occupation in the lives of young men in Kashmir.

Milan Terlunen

Milan Terlunen, PhD (Columbia University, Comparative Literature) specializes in public and digital humanities, with a particular emphasis on podcasting. Dr. Terlunen is the co-founder of the Humanities Podcast Network and the host of the “How To Read” podcast, which aims to disseminate academic research to a broad audience. His public humanities projects, such as “Speaking of Spirituality,” engage diverse communities in meaningful dialogues, bridging academic and local perspectives. His innovative pedagogical approaches integrate digital storytelling and social justice, guiding students in the creation of literary-historical projects. Dr. Terlunen’s work has been supported by multiple grants, including two year-long Public Humanities Fellowships at Columbia University’s Center for the Humanities and a Heyman Center Fellowship.

Daniel Watts

Daniel Watts is a geospatial technology professional from Queens, New York. He has worked with geospatial technology in the historic preservation and urban planning fields since 2014 with a focus on 3D data and web cartography and has previously led GIS programs at the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. In addition, he has also worked as a GIS consultant with a wide array of partners, including the National Park Service and Tulane University. Dan holds master’s degrees in urban planning and historic preservation from the University of Virginia and Clemson University.
