Next June, Johns Hopkins University will begin construction on a new library facility adjacent to the Milton S. Eisenhower Library on the Homewood campus. The building will be built for technology-driven, collaborative learning and named the Brody Learning Commons to honor former president William R. Brody and his wife, Wendy.

The new building will be a place that reflects the social way in which today's students and faculty learn, teach, network, and interact.

Features include:

  • Ample natural light

  • A robust wireless network throughout the building

  • Spaces for teaching, learning, and collaboration
    • Group study rooms
    • Reading rooms
    • Seminar rooms
    • Technology laboratories

  • Space for student-created and student-curated art exhibits

  • A new café

  • Space for the Rare Books and Manuscripts Department and the Department of Preservation and Conservation
