| Home > Library Services > LSC > Libraries Service Center Libraries Service Center The Libraries Service Center is the JHU Libraries' off-campus shelving facility. It currently houses over a half-million books and over a half-million pieces of audiovisual material in a climate-controlled environment. More than 40,000 low-use items are sent to The Libraries Service Center each year. This allows the libraries to accomodate new materials without losing open space and study areas. Special Collections items housed at The Libraries Service Center must be requested through Eisenhower Special Collections. *Researchers not affiliated with JHU shoud request materials through their "home" interlibrary loan departments.* Requesting Materials: JHU researchers may place requests for Libraries Service Center items:
On all requests please include the following:
Delivery Information: Requested items arrive at the Eisenhower Library at 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. Requests made before 1:00 pm are filled the same day, those made after 1:00 pm are filled the following day. Books and articles are also delivered to any specified JHU circulation desk. Film and fiche are delivered only to the Eisenhower Library's AV center. Special Collections material is delivered only to Eisenhower Special Collections. Articles of fifty pages or less from journals shelved at The Libraries Service Center are photocopied at no charge. Articles of twenty-five pages or less may be delivered electronically to patrons upon request. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
