FilmFinding Videos and DVD's

If you know the title of the video or DVD that you want:

Choose Alphabetical Search in the JHU Libraries Catalog.

Enter the title (use the drop-down menu and choose "Video Titles").  Remember to omit the initial article (a, an, the) in your search (e.g., Class Divided).

If you don't have a particular video or DVD in mind and want to find one by keyword:

Choose Advanced Keyword in the JHU Libraries Catalog.

  • Enter one or more keywords (e.g., cosmology, epidemiology)
  • Under LIMITS, "Material Type," choose "Videos, DVDs, films, slides, etc."
  • You can sort your results by title, date, or author (pull-down list in window on top right)

To "browse" the titles in our collection (since they are not shelved in a public area):

Choose Advanced Keyword in the catalog JHU LIbraries Catalog.

  • From LIMITS (bottom of page), choose the Location "Eisenhower Library Building"
  • Also from LIMITS, choose the Material Type "Videos, DVDs, etc."
  • In a search box, as a General Keyword, type in "dvd" or "video" (without quotation marks), depending on what you want
  • Sort by TITLE

Additional information:
  • DVD is the library's preferred format, but VHS and other formats are also acquired
  • JHU students and faculty may check out videos/DVDs for 3 days with 1 renewal.  Non-JHU patrons may watch videos in the Audiovisual Center on A-Level.
