How to Find All the Books on a Subject

   There are many strategies for using the Libraries' Catalog.
   
• Use 
   

  WorldCat  (All JHU (incl. International))

  Worldcat lists nearly all the books available in US libraries. It is the
  database used by Interlibrary Services to locate books that we
  don't have.
  
  
• Guide to locating secondary literature in Italian literature: a
  specially created guide for Johns Hopkins. Includes many obscure print
  indexes. (PDF file: requires Adobe Acrobat)
  
• Use a printed bibliography. 
  Do a Basic Subject search on an author's last name and the word "bibliography", to locate them in the library.
  
  
• Check the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze, online catalog. 
  
  
• Look in the NUC- pre 1956 Imprints on D-Level.

• Many reference sources include bibliographies of individual authors,
   movements, subjects.
  
  
• Consult the Research Services Librarian.
  
  
• Use the resources right under your nose.
  Bibliographies and footnotes in books and articles you have already found are your best source of further reading.
