Google Scholar

Google Scholar covers all topics and disciplines, so you can do very broad searches within it. Also, you can set up Scholar to show you a FIND IT link that will tell you whether or not we own an item, whether it’s online or in print, and how to get it. (The FINDIT links can look a little different from each other and be located in different places, but they are all the same.)

Configuring Google Scholar to Link to Full Text @ JHU

This will work for Hopkins computers (with Hopkins IPs) and non-Hopkins computers (like your laptop or your home computer). To see the links, you first need to configure Google Scholar:

  1. On the Google Scholar site, click on the picture of the little gear in the top right, then choose Scholar Preferences.
  2. In the box for Library Links, type Johns Hopkins and click on Find Library. Then check all of the boxes that you can.
  3. Next, choose the option for Bibliography Manager -- select RefWorks, for example, if you use it.
  4. Click on Save Preferences, and you’re ready to search!
