Finding Articles about Stem Cell research

Info About

PubMed (MEDLINE)

Use PubMed to find current review articles.  By surveying all of the key studies done in a certain research area, a review article interprets how each line of research supports or fails to support a theory.  Review articles are valuable, not only because they cite the important research in the area surveyed, but also because they compare and evaluate all the key theories in a particular area of research.  Tip: To only search review articles, click on limits and select Review as the Publication Type.  Try typing the following in the search box: (embryo OR embryonic) AND stem cells[majr] AND english[la] AND review[pt] AND hasabstract[text]

Find Background Information about Stem Cells

While looking at journal articles you may have decided to change your topic.  At this point, you may want to review the sources listed in the background information page to see if you can find additional information that is relevant to your search.

Look at some quality Stem Cell websites

Your professor may have told you to avoid websites for your research paper, and perhaps rightly so since so many web pages about stem cells out there are of dubious quality.  However, many quality websites on this subject do exist. For example, The National Institute of Health has several excellent sites.
