Science and Nature: Interactive Human BodyIdentify muscles, the skeleton, nervous system. You can see how each muscle moves the body.
Visible Human ProjectThe Visible Human Project® is an outgrowth of the NLM's 1986 Long-Range Plan. It is the creation of complete, anatomically detailed, three-dimensional representations of the normal male and female human bodies.
Whole Brain AtlasHarvard's collection of MR images of the brain is a well designed site that includes displays of pathological conditions as well as MPEG movies. The site also features quizzes, and sections on normal brain, cerebrovascular disease, neoplastic disease, degenerative disease, and inflammatory or infectious disease.

BME Societies, Organizations, and Institutes

Biomedical Engineering NetworkBrowse profiles of academic programs, links to grant-making institutions and professional societies, and a list of conferences. (Job list open to members only.)
Biomedical Engineering SocietyTheir goal is to promote the increase of biomedical engineering knowledge and its utilization. On the site, you can browse for jobs, internships, events, links, and publications.

IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society

This site is mostly about membership, conferences, and related topics. The full text of their publications can be obtained from 1988 to the present through their database.
International Society for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery
(CAOS-International)
CAOS-International is a non-profit organization that serves as a forum for the exchange of information, both investigative and clinical, about orthopedic surgery involving computer assistance.
It also gives surgeons and engineers the oppurtunity to discuss and work together.
International Society of Biomechanics Promotes the study of all areas of biomechanics at the international level, although special emphasis is given to the biomechanics of Human Movement.
National Collegiate  Inventors & Innovators AllianceThe NCIIA works with colleges and universities to help educate the new generation of entrepreneurs. It offers courses, information about grants, and a competition called "BMEidea," in which JHU has won first and second prizes during the last few years.
National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering

"The NIBIB is an Institute within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) devoted to merging the physical and biological sciences to develop new technologies that improve health."
See the "Picture Gallery" of images from researchers; most are not copyrighted and available for use, but you must credit the institute and the investigator. (Some images *are* copyrighted.)

Hopkins Links

CISST (NSF Engineering Research Center for Computer Integrated Surgical Systems and Technology) -- See also the CISST student organization, CISSRS (pronounced "scissors").
JHU BME Department's list of "hot links"  (beware; some of these links are dead)
JHU Robotics Research Center -- The research group addresses design, analysis, simulation, and implementation of novel robotic devices.
Master of Science, Applied Biomedical Engineering -- This is a program in the Engineering and Applied Science Programs for Professionals.
