Business Ethics


This library research guide is intended to assist faculty and students at the Johns Hopkins University in locating information resources which will assist them with their academic research in Business Ethics.  This guide is a work in progress. Please direct comments, questions or suggestions to the Librarian for Business, who is available by appointment to provide further assistance.

Try these keywords or concepts when searching on this topic in any resource.

Search Tips:

1) Refine your search by choosing a particular part of a record to search. Subject, citation/abstract, or title keyword searches are more targeted.  Full-text searches provide more flexibility in locating records which contain specific examples, slang, or more esoteric terms. Try searches for particular companies or people as well. 

2) Try an asterisk after a word root to retrieve related concepts simultaneously.  (Example: ethic* will retrieve ethic, ethics, ethical)

Use Interlibrary Services for article delivery to your desktop, if they are unavailable through the JHU Libraries' print or electronic resources.

Faculty and graduate students in Homewood-based schools, including the Carey Business School, may also use the Eisenhower Express service to request delivery of articles from print materials owned by JHU.

Use the Advanced Keyword search option in the JHU Libraries Catalog to find books on this topic, or books which discuss specific companies or people related to this topic.  These searches are more comprehensive and flexible in retrieving items, in case assigned subject headings vary.   Tip: Surround phrases in quotations when searching this way.

Required Course Readings

Note: Your JHED loginID and password are required to access copyrighted materials electronically.

To access assigned articles or chapters of books, which your instructor placed on electronic reserve through the library:

1) Click on the Find Reserves link, located under the Library Services section of the library's main page.

2) Click on the link called Course Readings. 

3) Scroll through the menu and highlight your instructor's name and course number. Submit.

Cannot find what you need?  Contact the Reserves staff or ask the library staff at your center whether it is physically on reserve at the Eisenhower Library or another JHU campus.
