Student Book Collecting Contest

The Friends of the Johns Hopkins University Libraries have been dedicated for more than 70 years to enhancing and stimulating support for one of Baltimore's greatest resources, the Johns Hopkins University Libraries. Encompassing the Milton S. Eisenhower Library and the Albert D. Hutzler Reading Room on the Homewood campus, the George Peabody Library at the Peabody Institute, and the John Work Garrett library at Evergreen, the libraries comprise the strongest collection in the city and are among the nation's leading research facilities. In 1998, these libraries were collectively named the Sheridan Libraries in honor of the vision and generosity of R. Champlin and Debbie Sheridan.

Through lectures and programs and the support of acquisitions, technology and access, the Friends play a vital role in assuring that Johns Hopkins advances and preserves the "great library" that President Gilman put at the heart of a "strong university."
