MEDLINE

DESCRIPTION
The MEDLINE database contains bibliographic citations to more than 4,500 international biomedical journals, in 30 languages, covering the fields of basic and clinical biomedicine. Dates of coverage are 1966 to the present. It is updated weekly, except in November and December; about 32,000 new citations are added each month. The file contains over 9.2 million records.

PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's interface for MEDLINE. It contains links to the full text of many journal articles. It also provides links and access to the molecular biology databases maintained by NLM's National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). These databases include DNA and protein sequences, genome map data and taxonomy of organisms with mapping information. Links to GenBank and OMIM are also present.
