SciFinder Scholar

SciFinder Scholar is the online version of Chemical Abstracts, with more than 34 million compounds. SciFinder covers 1907 to the present, plus selected pre-1907 items. Sources include journals, patents, conference proceedings, dissertations, technical reports, books, and more. SciFinder searches include the contents of MEDLINE and OLD MEDLINE. Searches can be done by topic, author, CAS registry number, patent number, CAS abstract number, chemical name, chemical structure, or molecular formula.

In the Eisenhower Library SciFinder Scholar is available in the SciFinder/Beilstein/Gmelin desktop folder on all public computers.

For JHU computers not in the Eishenhower Library, download and install the SciFinder Scholar client software on your JHMI or JHU computer and access it from your desktop.

SciFinder Scholar may also be used off-campus via VPN remote access.
