Call for Proposals

Application ProcessApplicants must submit a Pre-Proposal Application between April 15- May 15, 2009.  This should include the applicant’s name, contact information, a curriculum vitae, a letter of interest that contains an informal abstract of the project  identifying the proposed area of research,  highlights of the innovative approach, and a time frame to complete the project.

Qualified candidates will be notified by May 30, 2009  and asked to submit a proposal.   

Proposal:  Candidates selected at this stage must submit a full proposal by June 19, 2009.  Proposal must address specific areas of research.  Project and application guidelines can be found at our website.

Successful candidates will be notified by July 8th, 2009.

Fellows must begin by August 15, 2009.

The Johns Hopkins Sheridan Libraries was awarded a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and convened a conference of internationally recognized conservators and applied research scientists to identify the most pressing conservation issues facing book and paper collections in U.S. libraries and archives.
