Access to all historical manuscripts is provided through finding aids and a card catalog in the department as well as RLIN-AMC and the library catalog. The collection is strong in the history of science, especially physics and chemistry, literary manuscripts of Hopkins-related authors, and the history of higher education. Papers of presidents and early faculty are especially well-represented. The collection policy for historical manuscripts defines the scope of the collection.
