Laurence Hall Fowler is best known today as the architect favored by wealthy Baltimoreans for their houses in Guilford, Blythewood, and the Greenspring Valley. Fowler’s designs reflected his clients’ status, combining elegant, often understated facades, with lavishly designed interiors.

As a member of the Roland Park Company’s Architectural Review Board, Fowler was also able to influence the designs of other architects, bringing a sense of unity to the range of architectural styles found in Roland Park and Guilford.
