Travel Information


BY AIR

Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) ThurgoodMarshall Airport is closest to Baltimore. If you are renting a car, please follow the driving directions for points south on I-95. The Baltimore Light Rail provides service from BWI Airport to Baltimore’s Penn Station (you will have to change trains at the Mt. Royal Station for the Penn Station extension). From there, you may take a taxicab to the Tremont Plaza. Penn Station is approximately 1-1/2 miles from the hotel.

Super Shuttle $11 one way, one person from BWI. $11 each additional person; plust $1.00 surcharge per person.

The BWI taxi stand is located just outside of the baggage claim area of the Lower Level of the BWI Airport Terminal.  A one-way fare to the hotel is about $25.00.

If you choose to arrive at Reagan National Airport or Dulles International Airport, the least expensive and most efficient way to get to Baltimore is by train from Union Station in Washington, D.C.  Take a taxi from either airport to Union Station; then take either an Amtrak or MARC train.  Both trains go to Pennsylvania Station in Baltimore.  See below for further information.


BY TRAIN

Amtrak and local MARC commuter trains serve Baltimore at Penn Station. MARC Train service operates  Monday through Friday only, and runs between Washington, D.C. and Perryville, Maryland. Penn Station is located between Charles and Calvert Streets at Mount Royal Avenue. From there, you may take a taxicab to the Tremont Plaza. Penn Station is approximately 1-1/2 miles from the hotel.

The MARC commuter train is also a convenient way to travel to the ALA Conference in Washington on Friday.


BY BUS

Greyhound and Peter Pan bus services use two terminals in the Baltimore area: The Baltimore Travel Plaza and Baltimore Downtown. When planning bus travel to the Tremont Plaza, please disembark at the Baltimore Downtown station, 2110 Haines Street, Baltimore. From there, you may take a taxicab to the Tremont Plaza. The bus station is approximately 2 miles from the hotel.


BY CAR

From New York and points north on I-95:
• Take I-95 south from New York, Philadelphia, and Wilmington
• West on Baltimore Beltway (I-695) toward Towson
• Exit 23 heading south on Jones Falls Expressway (I-83)
• Take St. Paul Street exit, one way, heading south
• Continue down St. Paul Street until it forks: take the right fork onto St. Paul Place
• Approximately four blocks down on the right will be the TREMONT PLAZA

From Washington, DC and points south on I-95:
• Take I-95 north from Washington
• Take the I-395 Exit (Exit 53), heading “Downtown”
• Coming off exit, stay in lane for “Inner Harbor”
• Bear right toward the Inner Harbor onto Conway Street
• At the second traffic light, turn left onto Charles Street
• After approximately 5 traffic lights, turn right onto Saratoga Street and drive one block to St. Paul Place. Turn right.
• The TREMONT PLAZA is on the corner of Saratoga and St. Paul Place

From Pittsburgh, Frederick, and points west on I-70:
• Take I-70 west
• Take I-695 (east/south) towards Glen Burnie.
• Take I-95 north to Baltimore and follow the above directions (from points south on I-95)
