State Qualifier Race

Description
Sprint ::: Swim 500 meters, Bike 10.5 miles, Run 3.1 miles
Olympic ::: Swim 1500 meters, Bike 24.9 miles, Run 6.2 miles
Relays ::: Sprint and Olympic
Start Time: 7:30 AM
Location: Fireman's Park in Verona WI, Intersection of Bruce St and Hwy 69
Price: $75.00
Awards: Overall, Age-group, and relay award ceremony will follow the race at the park where post-race food will be served.
Course Info: The event will be chip-timed Swim: Both races will take place in a crystal clear quarry and wet suits have been allowed. The water temp has been very close to the cutoff at 78 degrees F but has always been below this mark. The Olympic distance race will be three loops, like elite World Championships, with the swimmers exiting the water, crossing over a timing mat, and re-entering the water between the two loops
Bike: The sprint distance bike will be an out and back 10.5 mile race over hilly terrain. The Olympic distance bike will include two loops in a very hilly and challenging terrain. Much of the bike course will utilize portions of the Ironman Wisconsin course as well as the old USCF WI State Road Championship course. The biggest hill has a grand view of southern Wisconsin and the bagpipes will spur you over the top!
Run: The Sprint run will be one loop with an out and back section over a slightly rolling terrain. The Olympic distance 10K will be three loops over a slightly rolling terrain. You'll climb a short steep hill on each loop.
The event was carried live by the local NBC affiliate this past year. Saris Powertap provided a Powertap that was raffled to athletes at teh awards ceremony. The raffle also included a CycleOps Fluid Trainer and lots of Hammer Nutrition products.
