Connect with a wireless connection | Connect with a wired (ethernet) connection
We apologize for the problems related to wireless internet access. MSEL and University information technology staff have recently upgraded the capacity by adding new access points. Increasing the capacity even further will require an upgrade to existing network infrastructure—a disruption we wished to avoid during reading period and final exams.
If you are having problems connecting to the wireless network, please go here for maps listing the locations and real-time capacity information on the 30 access points throughout the Library. Access points are listed by level and linked to capacity graphs. Hard copies of the maps can be found at the Information Desk on M-level.
You can also get information on wired connections at the Information Desk and obtain an Ethernet cable at the Circulation Desk. Please note that as a result of the wireless access issues, you will be able to borrow the Ethernet cable for 24 hours without payment during reading period and final exams.
We will work with the University’s IT group to further improve wireless access, and we need your feedback to better understand what difficulties users are encountering.
Please use the feedback form below, the suggestion box, or the blue slip feedback forms located next to the suggestion board on M-Level. Specific information (location, time of day, nature of the problem) will help us to identify problem areas and allow us to respond strategically.
Thanks, as always, for your patience and understanding. We are aware that this is a problem, and we are working on it.
Good luck with finals!
