Eisenhower Library patrons will soon be able to enjoy their coffee and pastry in a cafe setting on the library's south terrace due to the generosity of this year's Senior Class. The Class of 1999 raised more than $10,000, and with a supplemental gift from humanities professor Richard Macksey, outdoor cafe seating will be created for Cafe Q, Eisenhower's popular coffee kiosk. Canopied wrought iron tables, chairs, benches, large flower pots and landscaping will enhance the terrace just outside Cafe Q's location near the Garrett Room in the library. "The library is so much nicer now that it has been renovated", said Ron Palumbos, one of the four co-chairs of the Senior Class Gift fund-raising drive, an annual tradition at Hopkins. "The indoor cafe is used all the time by students. We love it. So we wanted to build on those improvements. Everybody was very enthusiastic about an outdoor cafe" For more information, please see the May 24 issue of the Gazette. The Sheridan Libraries encompass the Milton S. Eisenhower Library and its collections at the Hutzler Reading Room, Garrett Library and the George Peabody Library. ### Johns Hopkins University news releases can be found on the World Wide Web at Headlines@Hopkins | ||||||||||||||
