EISENHOWER LIBRARY RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS AWARD The American Library Association (ALA) has conferred its most prestigious award to the Milton S. Eisenhower Library, the 1999 John Cotton Dana Library Public Relations Award which recognizes and honors outstanding achievement in library public relations. The Award will be presented to the Milton S. Eisenhower Library in June at the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans. The award acknowledges the Eisenhower Library for the "Norman Nailer" campaign which provided information to the library's users during its 18 month renovation. With its comprehensive public relations program and its witty approach, the Library turned what could have been a trying time into a positive experience that enhanced support among faculty, students, staff and donors. The Eisenhower Library was the only university library to win the award this year. Among the other nine winners was the Enoch Pratt Free Library. The winning entries will displayed at the LAMA John Cotton Dana Award booth in the exhibit area during ALA Annual Conference, June 24-July 1. The Sheridan Libraries encompass the Milton S. Eisenhower Library and its collections at the Hutzler Reading Room, Garrett Library and the George Peabody Library. ### Johns Hopkins University news releases can be found on the World Wide Web at Headlines@Hopkins | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
