"THE BOOK GUYS", LOCAL AUTHORS, RARE BOOKS AND MORE:
THE PEABODY LIBRARY ANTIQUARIAN BOOK FAIR RETURNS FOR A SECOND YEAR.

The George Peabody Library Antiquarian Book Fair, sponsored by the Friends of the Johns Hopkins University Libraries, will be held Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in conjunction with the Baltimore Book Festival. The Peabody Library, located at 17 E. Mount Vernon Place, is one of Baltimore's historic treasures and creates the perfect setting to talk with antiquarian book dealers, shop for rare and collectible editions, and to receive free appraisals of treasured collectibles.

Returning to the Antiquarian Book Fair are "The Book Guys." Allan Stypeck and Mike Cuthbert will appear at the Peabody Library on September 23 from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. to record two live shows for their nationally syndicated call-in radio program. During the hour prior to the recording session, books brought in by the audience will be reviewed and appraised in order to find materials for the show. The focus of the September 23 broadcast will be rare books on music history. "The Book Guys" is broadcast locally on Saturdays at 8 p.m. on WBJC, 91.5 FM.

The Antiquarian Book Fair will also host local authors Stephen Vicchio, John Irwin, Frank Shivers and Miles Harvey as well as authorities in the field of book collecting and book preservation. Detailed information on times and events may be found on the Schedule of Events. For information about other programs sponsored by the Friends of the Johns Hopkins University Libraries, contact Kathryn Davis at (410) 516-8327 or Elizabeth Whitner at (410) 659-8197. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Sheridan Libraries encompass the Milton S. Eisenhower Library and its collections at the Hutzler Reading Room, Garrett Library and the George Peabody Library.
