A Cathedral of Books

February 13, 2009 - August 4, 2009
The George Peabody Library Exhibition Gallery
Hours: Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.;
Saturday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.; Sunday, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Facsimiles of selected works from the Peabody Library's 300,000-volume collection, which according to its founder, "should consist of the best books on every subject," are featured in this exhibition.  Spanning four centuries, the reproductions represent books originally displayed in A Cathedral of Books: Rediscovering George Peabody's Gift to Baltimore, the gallery's 2004 inaugural exhibition.
